What is an Estate Sale? – An Estate Sale is a means of liquidating the belongings of a family or an estate. These are usually much more extensive and involved than yard or garage sales. Estate Sales are used when someone is in need of a way to sell items due to downsizing, moving, divorce, bankruptcy or death. The public is invited into the home and given the opportunity to purchase any item that is priced for sale.

Who is responsible for what? – Karen’s Gang is a full service company. Hand us the key and walk away; it really is that easy. We can make this transition as effortless as possible for you.

What are the fees? – The fee is based on a percentage of the total amount sold and depends on the size and condition of the estate. Please contact us for more details. There is no fee for a consultation.

What can be sold at an Estate Sale? – EVERYTHING!!!!! Please do not make the mistake of throwing anything away before we, or anyone has a chance to evaluate what you have. Over the years we have sold not only, antiques, jewelry, glassware, and household items but also, clothes, food, cars, boats, fine art. You name it we can sell it.

I am interested in having an Estate Sale. What should I do first? – The first step is to contact us. Either by e-mail  or give us a call at 630-802-0292. At Karen’s Gang, we feel a personal contact is the best way to explain how the process works and we can set up a no cost in home consultation.

I have never been to an Estate Sale. What should I expect?

  • Arrive early, we do not give out numbers. The first person in line is the first person in the door.
  • We accept cash, check or all major credit cards for purchases over $250.00.
  • Prices are firm on Friday, but you can leave a written bid. If accepted you will be contacted by noon on Saturday. Saturday we will negotiate prices.
  • We have limited lifting help available on-site at the sale, but have a list of qualified movers for hire, so please bring your own manpower and an appropriate vehicle to remove your purchases.
